Another amazing stay at Sonesta and it seems each time I visit, it gets better. Good food, good facilities and friendly staff. Only downside is the longer waiting lines for reception and restaurants.

The best option, the hotel is very nice, the rooms are comfortable, the restaurants are delicious, the atmosphere is very lively, the location is spectacular, you can see the planes while enjoying your meal or a delicious cocktail!!

This is my second time staying at Sonesta Maho. I stayed here right before the pandemic started and I had an enjoyable stay. This time however was not it. Housekeeping was very laxed in servicing the rooms. I encountered that other guests were experiencing the same. Housekeeping would either not service the rooms or take an extremely long time to tend to them. If they did manage to service the room, it was not full service: no fresh towels, no new toiletries like soap or tissue, etc. Then to add insult to injury, the pool towel desk has a supervisor who is very rude and caters to Caucasian guests. After this stay, I will not return to Sonesta Maho.

Nice hotel
The buffet wasn’t what I expected it’s the name type of food .
I find the hotel at least should have the rooms them ready a lil earlier.
I did not see any snacks by the way like chips biscuits ect…

I only stay for one night . However I received Awesome customer service. I was allowed to get lunch before my official check in time that was 3pm. . The young lady at the baggage area was professional. After checking in and receiving my bottle water and champagne. I was told where to go but got a bit confused . Nonetheless i asked where the buffet was and was escorted to the buffet restaurant by a gentleman from the beach where you get your towels. When I got to the buffet a young man greeted me with a nice smile and offered me something to drink letting me know that the restaurant was closed and will be opening shortly. This to me was awesome customer service. I ask let him a few questions as it relates to Wi-Fi and he was able to tell me.
My only issue was I checked you cannot gain access to Wi-Fi until you are assigned a room number. I checked in at 12 am and my room was going to be ready until 3pm I had no access to Wi-Fi and couldn’t call me family to let them know I was safe. There should be a way to gain Wi-Fi access before you are assigned a room. A one time access 30 minute access Other than that everything else was great . The workers at the Buffett was awesome especially a young man with braids that worked the morning and evening shift night of the 8/7/23.

OMG a few days before my trip I called regarding my room. I was transferred at least 6 times. I asked for a manager, and they just kept placing me on hold and transferring me. The ladies that picked up had such a nasty attitude no one seemed to care or even wanted to help. I've seen the bad reviews online but I'm like let me just go there with a positive mindset. all I can say is STAY FAR AWAY from this place. I have NEVER experienced that much disrespect and such terrible customer service. I'm happy that happened before i checked in so i was able to cancel my reservation and booked at The Morgan. These people here hate their job. Believe the reviews this please the WORST OF THE WORST. i rather sleep under a bridge than to ever spend a night there just based on 4 phone conversations. It needs to be shut down .

If you're considering this resort and are already on the fence, do yourself a favor and book elsewhere! All the negative posts on this page have truth to them. The one positive to this resort is its beautiful beach. The food options are lacking. The Italian restaurant is their best food. The buffet is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast was the only food at the buffet that was enjoyable. Lunch was okay on certain days. Beware the buffet is also selective about what bathing suit coverups they allow and will wait till you are inside already to inform you that you need to leave. The rooms could also be cleaner. We were unable to utilize our balcony as it smelt like sewage. Towards the end of our trip the room also began to smell like sewage. With the exception of a few people, majority of the workers were extremely unfriendly and downright rude. While the island is beautiful, I recommend booking elsewhere.
